Mayor Luke Hopkins
Welcome...

... to the Golden Heart of the Interior!

Fairbanks is Alaska's second largest community and the residents commonly refer to it as the "Golden Heart of Alaska."

We are the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB), a local government unit similar to a county which covers 7,361 square miles and has approximately 97,000 residents. Within the borough are two cities, Fairbanks and North Pole and several unincorporated communities.

We hope to provide you with important, useful information that will help you get to know the FNSB and be involved in the community.
