Established by ordinance under Chapter 4.48, in part, to establish priorities and make allocations among services funded under state of Alaska human services community matching grants and to identify the health and social goals and needs of the community and to stimulate coordination and maximum use of existing and planned facilities, services and human resources to meet these identified community needs. This commission is up for reauthorization every six years, by ordinance. This commission was reauthorized in 2012. The Health and Social Services Commission generally meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month starting at 12:30 p.m. in the Assembly Chambers, BAC, 907 Terminal Street, Fairbanks.
