About the Plan:
The Fairbanks North Star Borough, in
partnership with the Fairbanks Downtown Association,
has prepared a new land use plan for downtown
Fairbanks.
Like many communities throughout the United States
and Alaska, Fairbanks is experiencing growth and
development. This growth means that the physical
characteristics of Fairbanks will continue to
change. As these changes take shape and are debated,
we will be faced with difficult land use decisions.
To guide future land use decision-making, a plan
should be established and be rooted in the values of
residents and the physical assets that make
Fairbanks a great place to live.
Vision Fairbanks
Neighborhood Planning
The Planning Department, in partnership
with the
Fairbanks Downtown Association, is
conducting the Vision Fairbanks Downtown
Neighborhood Planning project. The purpose of this
project is to ensure that downtown residential
neighborhoods continue to be viable in the future.
