How do you want downtown Fairbanks to grow?
Now is the time to get involved and help shape the future of our downtown community.
A workshop will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 6-9 pm at the Westmark Gold Room.

Polling questions and a mapping exercise will help shape the boundary of the planning area and set priorities for types and locations of future development.
Mayor Kassel has assembled a working group comprised of ten downtown-minded community
members to lead this planning process. They will meet throughout this yearlong process and will have an active role in the development of a new downtown plan.
This planning effort is anticipated to take a year. There will be at least three community meetings throughout the process and several surveys to botain your input. Community Planning and the working group will also be conducting on-on-one stakeholder interviews, photo walks and other means for participation and input. When a plan is drafted, it will go through the public process of review and adoption, including work sessions and public hearings at the Planning Commission and the Assembly.
Proposed Focus Area
Participants at the September 27 workshop will help define the downtown boundary for the purposes of this planning effort. Take a look at this proposed boundary and give us your thoughts.
