This building was constructed prior to 1906 and was
located at the corner of 4th and Cushman. It was known as the Palace Hotel or Palace Hotel and Bathhouse
where a person could take a tub bath for for 50¢
on the 1st floor. Sleeping rooms were available upstairs.
One of the proprietors was Miss Eranie L. Waechter.
In 1957 the bathhouse was renamed the Chena Hotel.
The building serves as an example of the type of log structure that
housed the first businesses in Fairbanks. It was moved to its
present location in 1967.
